Our Pro aligners are made of medical-grade, BPA- free and latex-free plastic. We make them under the highest quality control standards so they’re completely safe to use.
Zendura FLX is a premium material used for aligner fabrication due to its unique features, which make it stand out among the lot. It has been found that FLX is formulated in a dual-shell structure with three layers:
- The outermost shell provides abrasion resistance, acting as a tough barrier to grinding or bruxing forces of the teeth.
- The inner shell is tough and grips the teeth firmly to exert a firm and sustained force on the teeth and move them in a precisely controlled manner.
- Sandwiched between the outer and inner shells, lies the central elastomeric layer which provides elasticity to the entire structure.
Aligners can permanently fix your teeth. However, just like braces, their long-term effectiveness relies on consistent wear of your retainer after finishing the aligner treatment or by adding on fixed retainers (read more).
As you progress through the aligners, the gradual and steady pressure guides your teeth to their desired positions. Upon completing your treatment plan, wearing a retainer or getting a fixed one becomes essential to maintain your newly perfected smile!

Aligners are a popular and effective alternative to braces in fixing teeth. They're custom-fitted, clear trays made of smooth plastic, gently moving teeth without being noticeable, which many adults prefer. Unlike braces, you can easily take them out for eating and cleaning, making them more convenient. They're comfortable too, not using metal wires or brackets. While they might not work for everyone, they're a great option for about 95% of people who want a subtle, comfy, and convenient way to straighten their teeth.
Additionally, we understand that conventional braces can lead to semi-permanent or permanent discolorations on your teeth. They also elevate the risk of tooth decay and gingival problems, and typically, they require 3-4 times more duration to align your teeth.
The duration of treatment varies depending on the case, yet, on average, smile transformations with Shapd® typically span from 4 to 10 months. For more complex cases, treatments may extend up to 12 months. Make sure you wear your dental aligners for at least 22h per day.
No, we don’t believe that there is any backed up science in using night aligners. We have not had any success in doing night aligners in our testing period either.
For aligners, we recommend our treatment for individuals over 16 years old. But if you are younger or have a "check" from the government we can help you directly by our specialist clincs.

As the alignment occurs gradually, discomfort remains minimal throughout the process.
While some individuals may notice tenderness, particularly after transitioning to a new aligner, severe pain is unlikely. We're here to assist if any discomfort arises.
Maximizing the time the aligners remain in place significantly reduces discomfort. Consistently wearing the aligners, primarily removing them only for eating, minimizes pain and enhances treatment effectiveness.
Attachments refer to tiny, transparent composite buttons affixed to your teeth, enabling Aligners to apply increased pressure. These are employed for diverse malocclusions, are scarcely noticeable, and are removed after-treatment. Majority of our patients will need at least a few attachments bonded to their teeth.
IPR, short for interproximal reduction, involves creating tiny amounts of space between adjacent teeth, facilitating their movement as required during treatment. In many times they might be needed to get your treatment going.
This method is employed to generate space between teeth by minimizing the proximal surfaces when necessary, as specified in the treatment plan, particularly during clear aligner treatment.
Our Pro Aligners are effective in addressing mild to moderate cases of misaligned teeth. Common malocclusions that can typically be corrected with an Aligner include:

The Shapd Protection Plan™ offers extra assurance for your outcomes. Receive 5 years' worth of retainers to preserve your smile, along with protection for lost or stolen aligners for only 89kr/month
- New retainer every 12 month on demand, shipped to you.
- Replacement of any lost or stolen aligner (up to a 30 000 value) is included.
- The Shapd Protection Plan serves as a non-refundable warranty for Shapd treatment; once added, it cannot be removed.
- We commit to providing additional Aligners until at least 95% of the predicted result, as indicated in the treatment plan, has been realized, and as long as further improvement remains medically viable.
- To qualify for this guarantee, it is essential that you wear your Aligners for 22 hours daily. However, in the unfortunate event of dental accidents impacting your treatment results, we regretfully cannot offer a guarantee.
To ensure the long-term maintenance of your newly aligned teeth, we provide two options: the wire retainer and the Retainer Aligner.
The fixed retainer (recommended): After completing the treatment, we will put a fixed retainer to the inner surface of your teeth. This retainer is discreet and permanently secures your new tooth position. The one-time cost for the wire retainer is 3750kr per jaw.
Choosing the wire retainer also grants you a 10-year warranty on your refreshed smile.
It's important to note that adolescents under 18 years old should always secure their final results with a wire retainer.
Removable Retainers:
The transparent Retainer Splints are designed to maintain your tooth position post Aligner treatment and, when worn consistently, prevent any shifting back to the previous alignment. Our protocol stands for you wearing your retainer for every night up to 6 months after the treatment has been done and then change to 3 nights/week following. With proper care, an essixretainer can last up to 1 year. 2x essix retainers are always included in your aligner treatment free of charge.
We although recommend you to set yourself up for our Shapd protection plan at 89kr/month, rather than you purchasing removable retainers from your dentist for 3000kr. (read more)
Appointments
Where Punctuality Meets Playfulness – Because We Take Your Smile Seriously
Certainly, Shapd only employs trained specialists. For the Aligner treatment, our specialists have completed several years of training in orthodontics at the university level or are dentists holding a Master's of Science in orthodontics.
All of our partner clinics have licensed dentists and do also receive regular internal and external training.
Every treatment at Shapd begins with a 3D scan of your teeth. During this step, we employ a high-end 3D scanner to create a digital model of your jaws. This process, taking just a few minutes, is entirely painless. Using the scan data as a foundation, our dental technicians collaborate with our team of dentists & orthodontists to craft your treatment plan, including the design of your Aligners.
Upon approval and completion of the payment, we'll walk you through a 3D simulation illustrating how your teeth will gradually shift into their new position.
Routine follow-up appointments will be scheduled with your Shapd dentist to monitor and document the progress of your treatment. Normally 3-5 visits will be neccessary during your treatment which includes assesments, IPR (interpromixal reductions), attachments and applying the fixied retainer.
Every Shapd treatment concludes with a final check-up appointment.
If you need to change your appointment, please reach out to us directly, and we'll work together to schedule a new appointment.
If you anticipate a delay, please notify your specific Shapd partnerclinic as soon as possible, and they will gladly assist you in rescheduling your appointment.
Please be aware that for unexcused no-shows or cancellations made on short notice (less than 24 hours before your appointment), a no-show administration fee of 1000kr may be charged. This is done out of consideration for other clients.
It's advisable to allocate sufficient time for timely arrival to your appointment. This ensures proper room disinfection and ventilation before your visit and helps maintain a comfortable number of clients in the waiting area.
